COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A lifeguard is an emergency service worker who is responsible for overseeing the safety of the users of a recreational water feature, such as a swimming pool, a water park, or a beach. Lifeguards are qualified strong swimmers, trained and certified in water rescue, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and sometimes in the use of automated external defibrillators, oxygen administration and specialized equipment for airway management or aquatic rescue.

 Who is a life saver
 Duties of lifesavers
 Rescue techniques
 in drowning situation
 in spinal cord injury suspected situation
 in head splint situation
 First aid for a drowning person
 Hands –on exercise

DURATION:
Two Days

METHODOLOGY:
Digital in-focus projector to display lecture slides
Class room session to include films
Course manual for all participants;
Pool Practical exercise simulations
At the end of the course participants shall be issued a certificate and a LifeSavers PASS

Revalidation:
Every three years

Health:
All delegates will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to course commencement.
