Course Content
This Basic Natural Gas Safety and Operations Integrity Course will give participants the appropriate skills and knowledge to analyze, eliminate, prevent, and controlling hazards associated with natural Gas and its properties.
Upon completing the training, participants should be able to:
Understand the Basic knowledge of the properties of Natural Gas,
how natural gas it is stored and transported
Understand the possible hazards that may be encountered with industrial use of natural gas.
Effectively handle emergencies within their level of competence

This Basic Natural Gas Safety and Operations Integrity Course is suitable for personnel working in the downstream oil and gas industry or anyone wishing to get involve in natural gas refining, marketing and operation, the training will be of great importance to new entrants into the downstream oil and gas industry.
Course Outline
Introduction to natural gas; -as delivered to end users, Overview of well head to end user
Properties of natural gas, potential hazards and prevention
Basic safety codes and standards and guidelines
Gas safety Use and installation basic requirements and users’ compliance
Pressure Reduction and metering station (PRMS)
Facility siting and layout -PRMS and gas line routes (internal piping)
Safety signs &colour coding
Safety critical equipment locations and operations e.g. isolation valves
Call before you dig program
Identifying, recognising and reporting gas leak
Firefighting and other Emergency Response
Duration:
This Basic Natural Gas Safety and Operations Integrity Course will be organized in 1 day. These include classroom exercises and videos.
Pre-requisite:
There are no pre-requisite for the Basic Basic Natural Gas Safety and Operations Integrity Course however it is recommended that participants be able to read and write Basic English. Methodology:
Class room session,
Course manual and writing materials for all participants;
Digital screen to display lecture slides and videos.
Fire fighting practical’s
At the end of the course, participants shall be issued a certificate and PASS.
