COURSE DESCRIPTION
The main purpose of this training is to inform participants with a thorough understanding of the day-to-day safe operations of a LPG. It is a foundation course to take by all workers in these facilities. This course will provide participants with the knowledge required to understand the hazards and controls associated with LPG when dealing with the delivery, storage and dispensing of the product and know how to respond to emergency situations in the facilities.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
It is hoped that at the end of course participants will gain the knowledge required to understand the hazards and controls associated with LPG when dealing with the delivery, storage and dispensing of the product and know how to respond to emergency situations. Introduction to Basic Principles and Practices of LPG Operations
LPG Customer Application and Customer Service
Odorants and Service Interruptions
Applicable Standards, Laws and Regulations (DPR, SON etc.)
Overview of Bulk Plants
Standard Cylinders & Handling Techniques etc
Hazards and Potential Risks in LPG
Fire Fighting
Emergency Preparedness and Evacuation – PPE, Spills, etc
Duration:
This Basic LPG Foundation Programme – Introduction to LPG’s Physical and Combustion Properties course will be organized in 1 day. These include classroom exercises and videos. Pre-requisite: There are no pre-requisite for this training, however, it is recommended that participants be able to read and write Basic English.
Methodology:
Class room session,
Course manual and writing materials for all participants;
Digital screen to display lecture slides and videos.
Fire fighting practical’s
At the end of the course, participants shall be issued a certificate and PASS.
