COURSE DESCRIPTION
Lubricants are produced by refining heavy fractions of crude oil (remaining crude oil parts after refining hydrocarbons such as gas, fuel oil or kerosene). Lubricants are primarily used to reduce friction stress between surfaces. The course will introduce participants to the properties of base oils and lubricant additives. Participants would be familiar with the design and operations of the facility, product testing and quality assurance. The training will also cover HSSE fundamentals such as housekeeping and emergency response and evacuation.
Upon completion of this training, the participant should be able to understand:
lubrication process and uses
Recognize lubricants plant equipment
Identify different type of base oils & additives
Understands the steps to lubrication management
How to conduct Oil analysis and interpret its reports
General safety, storage and handling procedures for lubricants
How to conduct a proper housekeeping.
How to conduct an emergency preparedness and evacuation plan.

This training course is suitable for lubricant blenders, filling /packaging, third party blenders, retailers, distributors and all personnel working in the Lubricant plants.

1. Introduction to Lubricant refining and Lubricant manufacturing

4. Facility Integrity Management
5. Testing and Analysis of Base Oils and Lubricants
6. Storage, Packing and filling of lubricants
7. Housekeeping and accident prevention
8. Emergency response and evacuation procedure etc.
Duration:
This Basic Lubricant Plants- Lube Blending and Refilling Plants course will be organized in 1 day. These include classroom exercises and videos.
Pre-requisite:
There are no pre-requisite for this training, however, it is recommended that participants be able to read and write Basic English.
Methodology:
Class room session,
Course manual and writing materials for all participants;
Digital screen to display lecture slides and videos. At the end of the course, participants shall be issued a certificate and PASS.
