COURSE: PETROLEUM HAULAGE TRUCKS – Basic Petroleum Product Delivery Operations

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The main purpose of this training is to inform participants with a thorough understanding of identifying hazards involved with trucking Petroleum Products from Bulk storage to customer locations. The driver will have an understanding of loading and offloading procedure, truck requirements, maintenance and emergency management.
Those who will benefit from this training:
This training course is suitable for all truck drivers and motor boys (usually employed and managed by a 3rd party contractor) transporting various types of Petroleum Products.
Course Outline
Licensing, Driving Requirements and restrictions.
Vehicle Inspections, Identification, and documentation
Recognizing and preventing hazards associated with handling LPG and other flammable liquids. Defensive Driving Safe Driving Strategies and Procedures for handling accidents and emergencies.
Vehicle parking, servicing and security
Truck equipment and systems, including cargo tank, gauges, valves, pumps, meters, delivery hoses, Truck Earthing’s and Emergency Discharge Control equipment.
Procedures for safely loading truck using the plant pump Duration:
This Basic Petroleum Haulage Trucks – Basic Petroleum Product Delivery Operations will be organized in 1 day. These include classroom exercises and videos. Pre-requisite: There are no pre-requisite for this training, however, it is recommended that participants be able to read and write Basic English.
Methodology:
Class room session,
Course manual and writing materials for all participants;
Digital screen to display lecture slides and videos.
At the end of the course, participants shall be issued a certificate and PASS.
